Who Should Attend An ACLS Classroom-Based Program?

The Canadian Heart Association’s ACLS program is designed for healthcare professionals who participate in, or manage resuscitation events. What Will You Learn During The ACLS Program?

You will…

  • Utilize the BLS, Primary, and Secondary Assessments.
  • Perform high-quality BLS, emphasizing early chest compressions and integrating early defibrillation.
  • Recognize and manage patients experiencing a respiratory arrest
  • Discuss early recognition and management of Acute Coronary Events and Strokes.
  • Recognize and manage patients experiencing bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias.
  • Recognize and manage patients experiencing a cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation efforts or transfer of care.
  • Manage a patient who obtains a return of spontaneous circulation.
  • Model effective communication as a team member or team leader.

  • Discuss how the use of a rapid response team or medical emergency team may improve patient outcomes.

 How Will I Be Evaluated?
